User's Guide - Bankers
The bank is a relatively safe place to keep your extra items and money while you are adventuring, so that you don't lose it if you die.
Most settlements have a banker. Target the banker and type "/banker" to see your account. You will also see intructions that explain the commands you will use to deposit or withdraw items and coins.
