User's Guide - Equipment
When you wear or equip an item (using the /equip command), it is moved from your inventory to your equipment.
Each item is worn or equipped in a particular slot on your person. For example, a tunic is worn in the chest slot and a sword is equipped in the weapon slot. You cannot equip more than one item in the same slot, you would first have to unequip (/unequip) that equipped item.
When you equip an item, you may gain statistics. The most common statistic you will gain is armour class, by equipping pieces of armour. An item may also have magical bonuses to your statistics that you would gain by equipping the item, although this is rare.
