Good day all,
As a player of many MMORPG's, regular RPG's and the like, i would just like to add my total and complete interest in this new gaming endeavor.

I have read most of the posts here and all of the game FAQ's. You guys/girls have some great ideas and plans. But I throw all that aside. The most promising thing I see about this game is not the game itself...its the people that are creating it.

Never have I seen a game with so many supportive staff members that are willing to answer just about every question on their dev board. Every post has an intelligent, informative, and concise reply, and because of that I believe this game will succeed.

Now now I am not righting this in order to "kiss up"
For all I know the game could turn out like garbage (which I don't think it will), but at this point in the games development the folks at Brick House are taking just a few moments to answer the questions on this board.

So my point?

Just a word of advice...as word gets out about this game more and more...expect more and more people. Now I know you can not reply to every post here, but when you do reply continue your intelliegent, informative, and mature replies to your future customers and when they actually become your customers.

As i read more and more I will try my best to contribute to your ideas and problems.

Thank you for your time
Ron

Well, consider us the AntiVerant. That reminds me of a message post on the Ask Milo board at EQ. I guess Milo is the fellow who did most of the texturing of the characters in Everquest. A fellow posted a complaint of some sort. It was a very reasonable complaint; I don't remember it and it isn't important to the story. All that's important was that it was fairly reasonable. It's not like the guy just started cussing at Milo on the board or anything. Well Milo's response to the complaint -keep in mind that Milo is VERANT STAFF- his response was, "Keep sending in your $10 a month, little man, 'cause my new porsche needs gas."

I don't think this post needs any further clarification.

Yes yes I remeber that nice little Milo episode.

Intersting how I didn't mention Verant...hmmm

Hehe those poor guys at Verant really got themselves a reputation(which is totally deserved)

Just keep up the good work and be honest...and you will gain the respect of your play base

Thanks again

ha ha, yes that is interesting. Although you didn't mention Verant at all, my thoughts, and I'm sure the thoughts of anyone else who read it, drifted naturally to Verant. Thanks for the kind words, Tachyon.

Hail and Welcome Tachyon. My mind drifted to Verant on that one, their policies are the main reason I'm not still playing EQ while waiting for this game to come out. The openness and responsiveness of Brickhouse is one of the reasons I'm sticking around to see how this game turns out.

I've never been in an on-line game but I've been playing tabletops for over 20 years. It sounds better than the other games.

Sheez, I haven't even been alive for twenty years, and here you were slaying ogres while I was walking around in diapers. ;P

But you have it right... This game is a million times better than any other MMORPG out there, past, present, or near future. Sheez, I swear, the only thing that kept me playing Everquest as long as I did was Feign Death... Once I got that, I was finished, and haven't looked back. Then I played Asheron's Call. Quit that after I experienced making three-hundred oils in one sitting, because at that time I realized exactly how bored I had to be to be doing that... Then Cyn points out Arcanity, and poof!, I see an oasis in the desert of the MMORPG industry, and island of creativity in a sea of, well, frankly, shit.

Well BelDragos it appears you and I are in the same boat. I to have been playing RPG's for nearly 20 years and I still look back with fondness on the old RPG's. I think the biggest reason is that you actually role-played back then as opposed to what's available in a lot of on-line rpg's. I've played and beta tested UO, EQ and Asherons Call and they all have +'s and -'s. But if Arcanity can stray from the path and offer group activities/purpose as well as individual gratification they will have a huge hit. Because those are the basic reasons for playing.
Oh well, that's enough ramblings...

I cut my teeth on D&D in 1978 and moved up to AD&D through the Expert and Master editions of D&D. I tried many other games since then and lately have been chewing on Vampire, In Nomine, and others. I was in the alpha testing or Ars Magica when Johnathon Tweet and friends were playing with that idea. I even have autographed Whimsey Cards lying around somewhere.

Nothing beats the experience of those first few years. I recently met a player from a Ravenloft campaign that I ran and she still remembered it so well that she had the gamers tables at her wedding marked with the Ravenloft symbol. It was then that I realized how much a game that friends played just for fun really affected them. I felt really good with myself. I guess I did something right.

That is the feeling I'm looking for in a game. I hope I find it in this game.

It' all in the fun. Remember that.
