So what kind of ways can a person/thing travel? Will we be able to mount horses and stuff? Buy carts? Hire carriages? Perhaps even ride flying critters, gryphons/dragons/whatnot.
and also, could you accedently sit on a catapult on purpose and have it go off to send you places :)

Let's see. A lot of this particular topic is still up in the air, so I'll tell you what I know for sure. If you want to go somewhere that' too far to swim to, you can hitch a ride on a ship that takes a well known route. If you want to go somewhere more remote, you might have to shell out a good amount of cash to charter a boat ride just for your party. As far as land travel. All that's in for sure is running and teleport spells (allthough teleporting will be a higher skill level thang). Horses would be great, and I'm sure we'll have them someday. But I wouldn't expect them at the release of Arcanity. Same goes for riding flying creatures, although we would do horses before we did those. You mean carts to hold all your stuff? I'm not sure how practical that would be. If you wanted to go into a dungeon, would you just park your cart outside and leave it there with your hard earned stuff in it? If we saw a reason for carts and a way to make them work, we might do it. Any ideas?

Well, I was personally thinking more of you get a horse or slave or something similar to pull you around, along with horse and carriage-type machines, with a driver that can be told where to go (with the right price of course). Do this to make the trip nice and automated, while the PC does some reading inside the carriage, or sword-sharpening, or whatever. And then implement critters that are made especially for highjacking carriages... Whew, the complexity!

The "carriage" thing might be reasonable for well traveled trade routes between major cities. Similar idea to the ship travel on water. That's actually a good idea. We'll definitely toss this one around and see if it fits in the design.
