I think that BelDragos has alot of power seeing how he is forming the mage guild.

Who has the power?

Is it the peasants, who are taxed endlessly by the noble?

Is it the noble, who is suddenly ambushed on a trip by an enemies' army?

Is it the enemies' army, who is slaughtered by a single mage casting one large, destructive spell?

Is it the mage, who slumps over from exhaustion after casting a huge spell only to be killed by the one fighter hiding in the shadows behind them?

Is it the one fighter, who is killed by a pack of wild animals on his way back home?

Or is it the pack of wild animals, who are killed by a group of peasants hunting for food?

Power is fleeting. Everything is in flux. Therefore, there is no constant answer to your question.

The Game Designers. They are the ones who built the world based on 1's and 0's. They programed the sky, ground, and the very "flesh" you're made of. They got paid by the staff to create the POWER and they gave it to us so they can watch what we try to do with it. If they want, they can take it away. Everyone who plays a character in the game MUST play by the rules the programmers created. Staff included.

It's all in what we do with the tools they gave us to work with.

That we will Bel! Your mages need a goddess to worship? :)

if your mages need to have a goddess to worship, then you should also have the archbishop Ubik as her profit.... or at least the dude weilding the weapon autographed by her, and him....

It is not knowing who posseses the power today...it is having the wisdom and foresight to know who will have it tommorrow....

I am betting on it being me. hehe :)

If it should be you, there will be those who will follow and those who will oppose. The more power you gain the more dedicated each of these groups will become..power is the true double edged sword...one only wins by keeping both edges sharp and knowing when to turn the blade......

As I stated before, the Guild will encompas all four classes of wagic weilding classes. Kymeri might try to control the Priestly aspect of the guild if she becomes a goddess. Or the Druidical depending on the sphere of influence the deity develops. That's a long way off in game terms.

Might as well have fun until then!!!!

I'm starting and anti-magic guild! Our beliefs will be to live by the sword and die by the sword. Oh, and to cook every mage we find on a stick!

I don't think Goddesses are included in the mage catagory, so I think I'm safe. I don't know about you though Bel, as the head of a mage guild I think your a key target for Wrentia :)

Who said I was mortal?

BelDragos

Didn't mean to let that slip.

Oh well, too late now.

I hope that doesn't make Wrentia mad.

Generic

Probably not mad..just more determined!!!

BelDragos
11-13-2000, 08:29 PM
I hope not.

I'd rather have her on my side.

Kymeri mac An Iolar
11-14-2000, 06:38 AM
Bel, I think your already disqualified from having her on your side, your starting a mage guild and she says she is going to fry( actually roast) all mages. Someone who is organizing her victims seems to me would not be on her good side. :p

Generic
11-14-2000, 01:48 PM
I agree...

though if Bel organized the mages by which would be killed on which day they might be able to work something out>>>

BelDragos
11-14-2000, 07:28 PM
Better watch out Kymeri. The worshipers you want so bad would be the priests in the temple you are dedicating to yourself.

Godesses have temples...
Temples have priests...
priests are mages in the game, along with wizards, druids, and psionists...
Wrentia wants to "cook every mage we find on a stick"...

Plan:

When she starts her Anti-magic Guild we will ban all members and followers who use magic from being "found on a stick".

They're safe.

Theres one lil rpoblem with the mage guild. Its sooooo convenient for Wrentia. Think about it, no hunting through hill and dale for mages, just go to town and there all in one place.
Its almost as good as blood banks are for vampires.

Kymeri mac An Iolar
11-15-2000, 11:08 AM
Well Beldragos I have to disagree with you on this one. Yes a priest uses magic, divinily given him by his goddess. He is not however a mage, who I feel are the secular magic welders: wizards, soccerors, enchanters, etc... So I still feel that my priests in their temple not guild should be safe.

BelDragos
11-15-2000, 05:12 PM
the game classifies all who weilds magic as mages reguardless of the source of the power. All we have to do is to keep them off the sticks when Wrentia finds them and they are safe from her and her followers.

No sticks, No cooking.

Just in case she brings har own all we need are Protection From Sticks spells.

Slitherrr
11-15-2000, 07:47 PM
Hmm, can we say "iron roasting spit"?
I'll have the roast BelDragos a Broquette...

BelDragos
11-15-2000, 10:41 PM
Unfortunately sticks are not made of iron. If they were the economy would be greatly affected due to the abundance of iron. How would anyone cut the branches? The dangers of lightning strikes and rust.

Slitherrr
11-16-2000, 05:26 PM
"Oh ho ho, but can we not also make bridges out of stone?"
Just grab hold of your local blacksmith, say, "Hey, I keep cooking stuff over a fire with wooden spits, and the spits always burn and drop the food into the fire, make me something better!" Voila! Instant Bel-Skewer.

BelDragos
11-16-2000, 06:57 PM
Wrentia stated that she is going to cook any mages she finds on STICKS. It's a technicality but it offers an out. She also has to find the mage on the stick. No broom riding!!!

Wrentia
11-16-2000, 09:03 PM
Hmmmm, actually mages are kinda cute.....on the end of a spear.

Generic once again saves the day with his very clever use of an acronym. We're proud of ya Generic, glad to have you on the boards, else we'd never get around to skewering that Master of the Magic Guild.

BelDragos
11-17-2000, 03:35 PM
Well, I will just have to develop a contingency spell where if anybody tries to skewer me they will get skewered instead.

Protection From Cooking enchantments could help also.

Wrentia
11-17-2000, 10:30 PM
I am a warrior Goddess! You will skewer yourself for me because I want you too.....

-Wrentia

BelDragos
11-17-2000, 10:46 PM
Just like I am The Elder God of Magic. Reality will twist around me and the skewer will not happen.

Wait!! Oh good, my meds are here. :P

Dyson
11-29-2000, 09:47 PM
Arrg... I have no Eldar God Contingency skewering powers...
Maybe I'll just have to smile widely and hope no one has the urge to skewer feeble old men..

BelDragos
11-30-2000, 06:49 PM
Don't smile too widely or you will show your fangs.

Kymeri mac An Iolar
12-01-2000, 12:22 AM
I think your probily safe for awhile Dyson, Wrentia has to catch Thirty first and then Beldragos. They should lead her a merry chase and then she'll probily move on to the younger and more tender mages first, that should leave a stringy, lean old man such as yourself as last in line.

Wrentia
12-01-2000, 08:00 AM
I like Dyson....he'd do well to convert to me....:)

And as for Thirty and BelDragos, its the chase thats fun...I think I will grant them immortality so they can keep looking over their shoulders for all eternity.

I'd have no problem worshipping Wrentia. Perhaps I could snag a cushy job counseling the souls of those she kills...
Something fun and dismal along those lines.
