I trained voodoo but can't seem to use it. Is that stuff working yet or only melee abilities?

Magic skills and spells work. You'll need to buy/train some spells to go along with your new skills. I don't remember what the first spell is for voodoo... but there should be a voodoo ability trainer on trainer hill. Kayn can correct me if I'm wrong.

Voodoo trainer is near the River, one trains skills one trains abilities. Your first spell comes at voodoo lvl Ritualism lvl 2 Voodoo lvl 2 its called Weaken. What is does is lower your enemies str by -3 for 60 seconds. You might have not learned to hotkey by this point you will need to type this in game ( /hotkey 2 Weaken ) Without the () of course. :-) I have a voodoo priest so this is one of my most liked magics, if you need anymore help let me know.

I went to the one and learned Voodoo and Ritualism. The other guy won't teach me anything yet. So how do I increase my Voodoo or Ritualism level if I can't use anything?

I'm sorry i don't fully understand the quiestion but you need to move up Ritualism before you can move up any other magic skills like Voodoo. So you would take Ritualism to 2 then Voodoo to 2 then train for the ability Weaken.

That's kind of what I was asking. I have Voodoo and Ritualism, but they, as skills, don't actually do anything. I would need the specific ability Weaken before I can do anything. Sonow that I have Voodoo and Ritualism, how do I increase their skill levels? I can't seem to use them without any specific abilities, but I can't seem to get any abilities without having a higher level in the skills.

Skills are Knowledge, its what you know. Abilities are what you can learn atop your knowledge becuase you have the knowledge to understand such. Weapons skill also stop you from using higher lvl weapons tell you are well trained enough to know how. You can not attack with your Knowledge no, but you can learn to attack for your knowledge.

You can't increase skills by using them. You can only increase skills by training them.

Levels and classes, baby. Levels and classes.

Think I'm getting a handle on things now. Thanks

So what's the relationship between Ritualism and Voodoo? Is Voodoo just one form of Ritualism?

Yes so far all magic comes off of Ritualism though i think this should be changed.

I think melee is the most viable newbie experience right now. The others are questionable.

Currently, the warrior guild provides the only viable newbie experience.

Rick, Everyone here is talking like overpaid executive producers for some reason. What they mean by "the warrior guild provides the only viable newbie experience" is:

Warrior is the only class that works. The rest are broken, including Shaman, Wizard, etc.

It will probably be a month before Shaman works again. Wizard will probably not work until we finish Sanctimonia, since thats where the trainers will be.
