The new hotbutton window was patched live in a transitionary state accidentally. If you log in now, you should get the new hotbutton window and the abilities window. You can click and drag abilities and items onto the hotbutton window. Then you can use the things you dragged onto the hotbuttons by either clicking a hotbutton or hitting a number key that corresponds to that hotbutton.

Check it out, let me know if it's clear. Let me know what you think. Let me know if you think it's a step in the right direction.

I think it looks nice and definatly more user friendly then the /hotkey command.
But, I have an issue with it. I made a new character, Rose. when I type /skills it says I have melee 1, when I open the skills window melee 1 isn't listed. I have no way to set melee to a hotkey so I can't attack anything. :(

Hit 'A' to bring up your abilties. MeleeAttack is an ability, not a skill. I know, they sound similar.

'A' brings up the ability & skills window. Both of those are under one window. Melee Attack isn't listed under either of them.

On a side note now, why would melee attack be listed under skills for the / commands (/skills not /abilities) and it be listed under ability not skills for the windows?

Melee is a skill. MeleeAttack is an ability. If you don't have the MeleeAttack ability, you might be bugged...

Then yeah I'm probably bugged. It might not be me, though, it might be something that was changed with changing the GUI. I say this because Terram is also having the same problem as he posted in in the new here thread.

Yes, it's my new character. I made it about a week or 2 ago now? I don't remember exactly, it hasn't been very long though.

I made a new character Newt (ID=1687). He has the skill Melee 1 but no abilities. Nothing shows up in the skills and abilities window.
Hotkey 1 is not set.
