You might wanta look at the looooong posts I made under "Jerks". It started out one way but I got on a roll, and came up with some ideas to turn Arcanity from a better than average MMORPG to an Epic. I think I have something there...

The bad news, if you were actually able to do it like in the last post I just made, all 300,000 EQ people might suddenly show up begging to get in. Only software I know that could handle it is the Citizen Zero software, almost finished but probably kinda expensive.

It can handle 500,000 people, 1500 in one small area, they made it with a grant from the Australian government.

I am intimately familiar with the "jerks" problem you are referring to in your jerks thread. Rolfe and I still play EQ once in a while and we are huge jerks according to the "play nice" rules. Last time we played, we had the GMs come after us, hehe. Bunch of idiots.

And I think the solution you propose is a good one, that's really the kind of system we're going for. The only difference is that the main "evil force" may change over time. One evil force may take over another and become the new main evil force.

I'm pretty sure our servers will handle any kind of load we can throw at them. I think 300K would be doable, but there's no way we will have that many players. For one thing, most EQ players don't WANT to play a game like Arcanity. They like a very static, boring world with predictable spawns and babysitting GMs. I'd rather we end up with way fewer players, 10,000 or so, but all contributing to making Arcanity a great game. Not this nonsense that goes on in EQ. That reminds me, I really should cancel my account, I never play EQ anymore.

I already canceled my account last month. I wasn't a jerk, but their play nice policy sure created a few jerks and whiners. I hope they all stay there.

I canceled my EQ and AC accounts a while ago. I've been looking for something better. Hello, what's this? Arcanity? ;)

Hmm, Iv got an unused EQ account to, tried it, yuk.

And I like the idea of bad guys changing. For one thing, it gives us the option of bumping a big one off :)
Then, we get something new for veriety.
