I really liked Dark City, though I don't think it was the BEST movie ever... That's a tough call. American Beauty and Citizen Kane have got to be up there, as well as Casablanca, Terminator, The Verdict, The Truman Show, Magnolia, Braveheart, Lawrence of Arabia, Alien, The Abyss, Jurassic Park, Star Wars... of course, it all depends on how you define "best." I like lots of movies; I'd side with UBIK that die-hard sorts of movies can be a damn lot of fun. Then again, I also have a soft spot for Art films, like American Beauty, and Dark City is just cool. :)
Of course, Jurassic Park, even though it may not be particularly profound, is noted just due to its special effects milestones (effectively heralding the replacement of Go-Motion with CGI), and you could even consider Adam Sandler movies very successful, just on the fact that they have such a high profit margin.. well, the discussion could go on and on. "Best Movie Ever" is impossible to answer; the best you could really hope for would be "Really Great Movie(s)."
Well... looks like I'm a little wordy on this. Can you tell what I do without looking at my profile? :)

Alright, if any of you have seen it, Brazil is a hardcore awesome movie. If you haven't seen it, try to find it somewhere, but good luck. For a rundown, it takes place in a future where the bureacracy and paperwork has grown to absurdity. Sam Lowry, a common worker, decides to fight the system. Good stuff.

Hmm, watched the new Dune, liked it better than the old one, but it still didn't live up to my expectations. Little things got me, like the marked absence of Fenrig's role in the struggle, and the fact that they really don't mention why the people were running around with knives (because shields make bullets useless, of course, and that's also why the Baron doesn't die to the poison). Also, they did the worm motion all wrong... The worms just turned, when they're really supposed to bank towards the exposed flaps (it's irritating to them), forcing the Fremen to move around constantly to stay on top. Some of the acting was rather patchy, also. Ah well. Books!
On a side note, I rented and saw Fight Club yesterday, before I watched Dune, and yes, Rutherford, it's pretty damn good. I'm borrowing the book now, and I'm almost halfway through. I recommend it highly to anyone that hasn't seen it, and if you have... See it again!

Hail to the king baby!
Brcue Campbell deserves to HOST the Oscars. For a man with little acting talent he somehow became the god of cheesy oneliners. Or perhaps he has too much acting talent and he has to tone it down for us............

Yup, Sean was the best James Bond. My bro and I would just wait for the next one to come out and drive our parents crazy until they took us to see it.

I guess you have all forgoten about the classic movie "The Stupids" its got great writing and acting.
haha that movie was good for a few quick laughs, i've seen it a billion times and i still get a kick out of it
"Crouching tiger hidden dragon" is some damn good cinema, right up there with "Five Deady Venoms" Me personally, I like anime a lot and think everyone should check out "Ruroni Kenshin"(sp?) its an amazing series. I think it also goes by Samuri X, and its released by ADV films. If you can't find it Neon Evangelion is a goodie too.

I'll back you up on that one Rend. Rurouni Kenshin is a really good anime series. It is very lengthy, so you don't feel like the writers should have expanded on a certain area of the story ( the anime is 98 eps long ).
It takes place in the Mejii era of Japan, and follows a rurouni ( wanderer ) who still weilds a sword. This rurouni was named the Hitokiri Battousai who lead Japan into the Mejii era from the Tokugawa reign through the use of his sword and assassinations. But now he is retired an swore to only use his sword to protect people and not to kill.
Great story, and it even follows the lines of Japanese history. Let me know if you sound interested and I can send you a few samplers.

Su'ulMorda

12$
there are two new theatres charging three bucks more because of their huge screens, top o' the line sound and stadium seeting.
Good spot for action and special effects flicks...

Loads of people I have talked to did not see this film maybe its just me but this film was far more scary then most of the horror films (notably Blair witch 2 that wouldn’t scare a nervous hamster) that I have seen this past year.

Bah, the Bible's only good for depraved sex and mindless violence. If you don't believe me, take a good looong look at the Old Testament. Judaism seems a lot happier to me somehow. Maybe that's because the only Jewish service I went to, they gave me cookies instead of taking up offering.
