Question: How will movemment ingame be done. IN diablo style point and click, or arrow keys/keyboard??

The first person point of view with keyboard/mouselook control will be the first priority. But I know that Fogerty wants to have a lot of customization options built into the game, and he's specifically mentioned a Diablo type view as an option. It's on the "to do" list for now and hopefully we'll have time to implement it before release.

Welcome to the message boards, Gratto! Indeed, what Rolfe said is correct. We originally had planned for a first person only view, Quake-like controls. But we are reconsidering now after some advice from our newest programmer, Corellian Knight. We may allow a Diablo/Baldur's Gate type interface as an option. But like Rolfe said, it's not on the top of the to-do list.

Thank you Rich,
Cool, my personal favorite is the first person view. Seems to draw you in more. However I can see the need for both type interfaces. Some players perfer one or the other and I can see both being used...

3rd person is probably my favorite because i like to actually be able to see my character and see what he looks like, i mean with no mirrors around u've gotta know what u look like somehow...

Who said there weren't going to be any mirrors? We can do mirrors.

Gonna have mounts? Ships? Can't remember if this has been mentioned/asked on these boards before. It's something I would love. It fits in perfectly with my dream of what I want to do in online RPGs. I'll probably rant a lot more about this in the future, but in essence one of the things I would love to do would be a pirate or a bandit.
The thought of myself and a few thuggish friends owning a ship and being able to personalize it (up to a point), sail around to different ports, be hated in some, feared in others, laughed at in others... but causing a reaction in the locals one way or another. Being able to have ship-to-ship combat, being able to actually intercept a shipment of spices going to a certain port, steal the loot, sink the ship and actually have that have an effect on the ship's destination - people don't have no spices they can't preserve their meat so there's gonna be a lot more hunting in that area for fresh meat which'll affect the monster population since they'll be lacking in food and will cause them to become bolder in their attacks on civilized areas... and all that cuz I managed to intercept that merchant ship. man I really can dream can't I?
Anyways, having mounts and ships would be wonderful. What's the thinking on that?
S'right,

Keep dreamin', Scrote! Just kidding. Probably no mounts at release. But we will definitely have them eventually. We'll have ships at release. But they will be NPC ships that you hitch a ride on OR that you charter to go somewhere of your choosing. We could think about implementing player ships after release. It sounds pretty cool the way you described it :)

And please please PLEASE, keep the number of portals down, that was one of my biggest pet peeves in Asheron's Call, was all those frickin portals every where you turn. I was seeing purple and blue in my sleep, it was nasty... Also leads me into another (unrelated) peeve, which is combining stuff with craft skills... I remember in AC there was this time I had to make 300 oils for a guy... I never want to live that experience again (clickclick, clickclick, clickclick...), so if(when) craft skills are implemented, multiple batches at a time, please please PLEASE!, if it's something small and numerous (like alchemy oils). Ok, done.

Slitherrr: No portals. If they exist, they are rare and hard to find, because I've never seen one. No boring trade skill mouse clicking, either. You won't have to make 10,000 pieces of leather armour to become mediocre at tailoring.
