Slitherrr you seem to be the lead monk around here, where is our monastery going to be? I hope some others show up soon, even with two of us it's still going to take forever to get and keep that place clean.

You could buy some magic brooms from us but don't cut them up or forget the command words that make them stop.
Thracyl

Or let Wrentia use them for spits to barbecue mages on. :)

Well, near the summit of a tall mountain, of course. Can't have just any ol' busybody with a mind for a spring stroll walking in on us, that won't do at all. The colder the better, the more we can withstand in our daily lives, the more resolute and disciplined we shall be. Perhaps when this world is new, you and I should set out to seek a good place, after establishing ourselves, of course.

I'm all ready to go. I've got my weapons packed.... oops don't use those. Clothes and money............ darn vow of poverty. Well, at least my concubine can keep us company.......DOH!! Oath of chastity. Sigh. Guess we know why us monks are such good fighters huh? Nothing to do but train and pray, and of course there's the new monastery to build.
BelDragos

After you are done you can help me build my guild halls in the other cities.

It has come to my attention that mage problem we have has reached an all time high. Here a a few suggestions to quell them.
1)Circulate through all mage shops in the area and replace ironroot with itching powder.
2)Find as many dyslexic people as possible and enroll them in their schools.
3)Roll large boulders from our mountaintops in the general direction of their guild halls.
Any and all suggestions helping us deal with this problem will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Thracyl

I am sure my sister Wrentia will be will to give you some more good ideas or just put them all on sticks for you.

Very good Thracyl. Implement these ideas immediately, I shall expect a full report upon completion. We shall teach these "mere magi" to toy with the epitome of discipline.

Yeah, and it's fun to hear them go *squish* too!!!
BelDragos

Would that involve the pain dance on the Swath of Flames?
BelDragos

No, The Dance Of Flaming Blood.

Depends on how much "happy water" our friendly monk has in his blood stream, could make for an interesting secondary effect. 8)

Yep, but kinda messy!
Thracyl
12-27-2000, 10:18 PM
The biggest mess I see will be the splatter of mages hit by the rocks I roll from my mountaintop onto your academies. =)

Too bad the Wall of force is such a well known spell, I wonder if it is posssible to give it the elasticity of a rubber band...(hmmm, Loony Tunes flashback...) 8D

As the boulders roll under our floating cities. Look out for our sewers!

Floating cities, Wall of Force, good thing catapults and ballistae are non magical. Slitherrr, we seem to have a problem here there is an elder god of magic here, perhaps we could use an elder god of anti-magic........
BelDragos
12-28-2000, 06:26 PM
We will just develop Anti-anti-magic.

Well seeing how these mages seem to have this wild notion that their missing stuff has somehow ended up within my grasp or that of my ever growing followers. I Will be happy to lend any aid needed (I.e blueprints, gaurd changes, and more stuff of shady side which i cannot go into as it would give them a insight they do not need heh)

Good thing the monastery will be on top of a mountain. All kind of bad things happen to people that climb mountains. Sometimes noone ever hears from them again......

When theives "fall" from floating cities they don't leave much behind for scavengers.

Yes, and neither do the Monastary's Death Hounds of Doom, the ones we keep roaming the hills. Saves loads on feed too.
I just got a new idea for my goddess, Wrentia, you should have Hounds-on-a-stick, then cook 'em, then you have hot dogs-on-a-stick :)

Besides I don't think Wrentia would put her own Archbisop on a stick and putting ANYTHING on a stick is Wrentia's providence and I wouldn't mess with that.

Just remember Bel that you shouldn't mess with the monks too much our sister is already looking to topple you, and messing with warrior monks whom fall under her protection since they are warriors as well will just give her another excuse. :)
BelDragos

Are monks not also Mystics?
Thracyl
01-04-2001, 12:38 PM
Moks may have powers that seem magical, but all they are us a result of extensive meditation and understanding of ourselves. We may be able to move extremely fast and do things with our hands that most warriors couldn't even do with a weapon, that's simple discipline not magic. Much like you finger wiggling pretenders who throw flame about and pretend to disappear at the snap of a finger. The simple fact is that we don't try to hide how we do it so we can fool the gullible.

Go Thracyl!
I'm all for wizards being viewed as frauds... it'll give my aeromancer a lot to argue about. :)
"Hey, I'm flying! Look! Flying!"
"Pah! You expect me to be fooled by such parlor tricks?"
"Flying, damn you!"
Thracyl

Bring that catapult over here!!! I can fly too!!
BelDragos
01-05-2001, 07:02 PM
Landing would be the hard part....
Magic is the manipulating of the energy of the universe. The "finger wigglers" are the cheap entertainers that your monistary bearly affords(vow of poverty). Someday you will be thankful you met one of the true channelers when you need them to use their power for you. The day will come when you will be forced to eat crow, besides for dinner.
Thracyl

*checks tumbling skill*
Yup, I can land just fine. As for affording finger wigglers, that's what all mages are, no better than pickpockets and illusionists. Just looking to make a quick buck before your fraud is discovered and you have to skip town.
