12 years

Story and Character quality (yes, I'd like to see a game with the qualities of a weel written story, i.e. novel or such)
4) What is your favorite aspect of a game?

Put me on the fence for that one, I don't often pay attention to who made as much as if I liked the game.

Word of mouth for the most part.
10) What is the greatest influence that convinces you to buy a game?

2) Since 1980... of course most of the worthwhile games were arcade, ie: Asteroids, Pac-Man, et al. Atari 2600 rocked & prior to that Pong was revolutionary!
3) Replayability, gameplay, graphics, and interaction(immersiveness)---in that specific order.
4) The ability to control your perspective of the game; the ability to leave the REAL World for an hour or two; and the ability to experience the game's true intentions as designed by the game developers.
5) As for Online-genre games, I'd like to wish for better communication possibilities---like voice-capabilities for upcoming games---typing will become obsolete and tedious. Eventually I'd like to experience a modem-to-brain synapse 'contraption' to expedite my gameplaying---having to use my hands & fingers is so clumsy! :D Furthermore, a bugless game and more pro-activity from game-developers to interact with their game's consumers.
6) MMORPGs, RPGs, Turn-Based Strategy(Chess), FPS, and Sports---in that specific order.
7) Of course the PC! Too many advantages to convince me that consoles are better. But in retrospect, Atari 2600 was my foundation in playing 'puter games.
8) Besides, BrickHouse Trading Co. <shameless plug>, Blizzard, Microprose, SSI, and Black Isle (AD&D series-Icewind Dale) come most readily to mind.
9) Gaming Netzines, peers, and magazines.
10) Initial positive previews, community popularity, reviews from peers in the 'Gaming Industry' lucky enough to test or preview it, and the availability for 'multiplayer interaction'---whether that be LAN or Online gaming; the game MUST be multi-player or I won't even give it a second look.
* Okay I was a tad verbose but being able to provide detail would be more beneficial than a one-word response. *grins* :D
