So isn't mine. And as far as I know, Indigo's pic isn't anime either, which leaves you, Kymeri and Crysdark, which somewhat suggests a 1 to 1 ratio between non-anime and anime.

The picture is one of a character I had. A friend of mine drew it for me in '87 and I liked it so much I framed it and hung it on the wall. The Pseodo-Dragon's name is Alya.

haha very true Bel... but mine also holds alots of meaning to myself and some others, since Slayers is a very long anime, with a great fantasy story and background to it. I shaped this character from first level Ranger/Mage until level 29/32. In D&D thats over 7 years of weekly gameplay. I have many memories and seeing the picture reminds how much I had fun I had.

I completely disagree, I think anime is a fine medium for representing strength and warrior qualities. The proportions of your picture are more realistic that that of anime, but I don't think the proportions are what make your character look strong. What I like about your picture is the exagerated shading. It gives a feeling of being worn and tattered from battle. However, your character's posture reflects that she was victorious.

Anime uses a completely different kind of shading and coloration. And the way I feel is that the strong, bold colors used in anime work towards giving the character strength.

Plus, I just like anime-style artwork.

Sorry all, I'm having comp problems so am posting from a friends comp (I haven't been around for a few days). Ahh anime.. anime... anime... Anime is not a specific genre like an american cartoon. As a matter of fact, Anime is to the Japanese what movie theaters are to Americans. Just like in movies, anime has all sorts of genres. Action, comedy, romance, etc. Some of my favorites are equally tied in the comedy, romance, and action themes. And anime comes drawn in many differnet ways also. Anime has gotten a very bad stereotype in the US from what conservative censores have allowed too be seen. Some of the most popular animes are not even close to the stereotype of big eyes, dispropotional bodies, and wacky hair. But anyways...

z_man!!!! I have the PERFECT pic that will put everyones pic to shame on the boards! Gatts from Berserk will yield you some of the best pics for a warrior. Gatts (or Gattsu) is the main character from the anime and manga called Berserk. Pics are very hard to find, so if you can't find one then contact me through ICQ 33415570, and I'll have a few for you. Man, you want battle hardened? Tough-as-nails looks, with a cold attitude and badass moves? Gatts is perfect for you. And hey if you ever have the chance, make sure you see the anime. TV series was 24 eps I think, just good luck finding it =)
