Hiya guys! As I were surfing around the net(after a few desparate hrs of sitting in a 5x5 room doing the same 5 keyboard strokes over and over, in eq) looking for the earliest release date of the next generation MMORPGs I came upon your interview with ign. It surprised me, almost what I thought my dream rpg should be, was posted in detail there. I share your general principal of physical realism and fantasy realism. That is, it is one thing to have a dragon walking around ala fantasy(dragons do not exist in RL,unless the government is doing something) and quite another to say as you put it wizards can pick up 2hand swords! I am glad you guys can separate the two, unfortunately most developers are still clueless.
I have been playing games since the days of pong, went through the console RPGs cycle such as FF series and dragonwarriors and then the hardcore PC rpgs such as mightandmagic, daggerfall etc. Finally when I was old enough to sign up to an isp. I started mudding, cutting through all the lev 200 chars and started a mud of my own although it never took off:( in a few years it got boring too, but i did learn a lot about the social aspect of those games and human nature. Then comes everquest, how i wish i never opened that can of rotten worms! Anyway i think i must made another rant :P So i will stop here.

You can be sure i will be there when the game is rdy for testruns!

You sound a LOT like us! Honestly, if our "dream" RPG already existed, we probably wouldn't be writing Arcanity at all. We'd be playing the other game 24/7 instead. BUT, since it doesn't exist, somebody has to create it. That's where we come in :).

We won't be the next MMORPG released. Anarchy online is first, although a VERY different type of game, all futuristic. We'll probably be out next, though, right around the same time as Dark Ages of Camelot I'd wager. The other games I know of are planning for 2002.

Glad you found us, hope to see you around here often.

Well, I just looked at http://rpgplanet.com/games/mmorpg.shtml

Ohh - beg pardons if I am saying this twice! But the Gods seem to have taken a liking to my post.

I said:
Dawn is on the listing - which is another future world I have been following. Imagine a 12 year old striding into town and saying "Watz up DooDs!" and you have the choice to punish him for his failure to role play. I love it.

I am following Dawn as well Ice storm, It is doing some very different things, of course number one being perma death and always in charactor roleplaying.
