I too have not been on these boards for that long and I can tell you that they are all a good bunch and you will fit in in no time :)

As long as you like to RP and you have some good inputs then you should fit in very well, and seeing some of your other posts from today I think you will be fine.

I think safe is not the right word. He just won't get killed until he reaches journeyman status.
