Another Fun Game

I was in writing class today (bleh) and was the one who solved a fun open story question. I'll repeat it here and see who can guess the answer. It's pretty hard.

Basically I can ONLY answer any questions with 'yes' or 'no', but you must figure out the CAUSE of the situation. In other words answer the question below.

There was a man who was shipwrecked on an island. He was rescued and taken upon the rescue boat. The rescuers gave him a bowl of Albatross Soup and right when the man ate some he died. Why did the man die?




Ok here are the rules. I'm not using this as a way to gain posts -_-. It's not like I don't have enough alrdy! And I'm not "lacking" in posts LOL. Place a number in front of each of your questions, and make sure that the number is in series with the person who made the post before you. Ask as many questions as you want in one post, but try to keep it short. I'll wait until a significant number of questions has accumulated and answer each one. I'll start off with an example question.

Now whoever makes the next post will ask question 2. But they can ask as many questions as they want. Like maybe 3 questions. So they would ask question 2,3, and 4. I'm making this posting process complicated so that people can't exploit this thread in a way to gain huge amounts of posts. Let the fun begin =) And I hope nobody messes up the question formatting =\

Shrug. Sometimes these puzzlers try to trick you into thinking the protagonist is human when it isn't. "Man" could have been short for "manatee" or "manta ray" or it could have just refered to the sex of the object/animal.

Actually, the man was trapped on the isle with a band of cannibals. He didn't know they were cannibals and they fed him food and said it was albatros. When he ate the bowl of soup he realized the food on the isle was NOT albatros, but his friends he had been shipwrecked with and had slowly died before rescue, so he killed himself.
