It was mentioned in one of the threads that there will be no level cap on grouping. I like this idea....Can you give us more details?

1. How many people in a group?
2. Can groups combine into "raiding parties"
3. How would experience be handled if say an experienced
character is teaming with a newbie to show her the
ropes?
4. How about a damn intelligent cash splitter? :)
5. Group chat channels?

The following is some random ideas on grouping....

1. no limit to number of people in group, but there is a
radius around the group leader the group members should
stay in. If they move out of the radius they don't get
exp for kills....but stay in the group unless removed by
leader.

2. Raiding parties. A guild decided all members of all
experiences will raid the Goblin Fort. Each group in
the raiding party gets their own exp, but communication
is possible across the whole raiding party without
gunking up other chat channels. A large number of low
experienced characters could overwhelm a more powerful
NPC (maybe losing 1 or 2 in the process. Think about
the Zulu Wars here.

3. Make sure link deaths don't bug groups....:)

those are some good ideas...i think that perhaps the appointed leader of a group should get some experience bonus simply for being the appointed leader based on charisma, total exp earned, power..etc..etc..

(1) No limit right now. If anything, it will just be limited by the fact that a group of 20 just isn't going to get anything done realisitcally.

(2) We have been toying around with the "group grouping" idea. It's not on the top of the list, I can't guarantee it will be there at release.

(3) I should lay something out right here. Anyone who contributes to a situation gets part of the experience from the resolution of the situation. So if the situation is a battle with a monster, anyone who helps to kill it will get some experience. It won't be like "other games" where only the person/group that does the most damage get the experience. I realize this will open up some cheesy ways to get experience and also some annoying ways to not get experiecne for those used to camping. But we'll be watching it carefully in beta to balance it all out.

(4) Don't ask me why the splitter in "other games" doesn't work worth beans.

(5) There will be group chat. It's not realistic, but it's just the only way anything's going to get done when 6 people are trying to comminicate over the internet on keyboards.

do you think the leader of a group should get experience for being a leader?

Actually, I don't see how that's really the good idea, because groups in real life don't necessarily have a leader, and in the game, it would probably be best to have leader as an arbitrary position. No reason to get extra experience just because you happened to type/click something to start off a group, and it may start tensions ("Ok, I'll start the group""No you don't, bugger, I'll start the group" and so on).

no i mean if somebody actually gives orders 'n such...like say you're running a raiding party or something...you could get extra exp for that..

The "group grouping" idea may be the place for the leader type thing...or lets say my guild "Wrentia's Worshipers" is gonna raid some evil city somewhere....maybe the apointed leader should get a small exp bonus, but I agree with Slitherrr that normal groups should not have exp bonus for a leader.
