I say there should be a... well as i see ogre race, BUT i always saw ogres as tall and thing (not fat!) but power houses... just really stupid, tahts alawys me... or some kind of just big like ox guy, he pulls a bunch of wieght around and isnt smart enough to get some one else to do it.. u know what i mean? those guys who get them jobs where they are like suppose to break a house down but they only get a helmet.. sothey run into the walls with thier head, while having the helmet covering thier neck cuz its sensitive...

LOL funny funny =) The minotaur race sounds perfect for yourself. Thats a confirmed race that will be in Arcanity. I think I remember speculation on ogres too. However that will be much later than the confirmed races.
As for myself I enjoy the physically weak but cunning races. I really don't like to deviate from the human-like races. And I don't prefer small gnomes or dwarves. Humans and elves, thats for me. Sometimes tho I enjoy playing a tank-mage crossbreed. Somewhat good at melee and somewhat good at casting.

But minotaurs aren't stupid, maybe how they put it they are but how can a being that builds a giant maze, casts a pwerful disoreintating spell apon it, and has an arsenal of mind twisting riddles? But the problem is every one sees them differntly, in Dragonlance they are cousins of the ogres but much more prideful and are big on honor, jsut not as powerful as thier cousins. In most ppl's imagination they are cursed ppl, and in some ppls minds (this is the idea i hate the most) that they are half human half bull (that must have been one sick parent) but any ways. Ill read how this game sees them, but most of the time they are human intelligent, they dont do stupid stuff... but they still are brutes and barbarians, so they are close... but thats my view...

...It's all about the minotaurs. It will be sweet :P
Got curious. Found these in a "dream" dictionary... ;)
The OGRE
Mythologically, the ogre symbolizes the "terrible parent," especially the father, and often represents a warning -- attend to this -- in fairy tales (Cirlot). In folklore, ogres are frequently large, stupid, gullible, and easily frightened -- an attempt to render them less harmful and more controllable, although they are small trolls in Norway.
A normal dictionary said:
"1. A giant or monster in legends and fairy tales that eats humans.
2. A person who is felt to be particularly cruel, brutish, or hideous"
The MINOTAUR
Dark, destructive forces/emotions that prevent growth and enlightenment (as the Minotaur in the Minos labyrinth); shadow aspects. As a composite creature with a human body and steer's head, he represents the conscious and unconscious and our attempt at union (untamed bestial/primitive impulses in the upper animal part; civilized conscious material grounded by Mother Earth in the human body).
A normal dictionary said:
"A monster who was half man and half bull, to whom young Athenian men and women were sacrificed in the Cretan labyrinth until Theseus killed him."
Btw, the minotaur didn't build the maze, the was put there by the builder Daedalus. He was the son of Minos and Pasipha. And not exactly Nobel price material...
So dream on people... ;)

Heh I was making a balance assumption too. If Mino's were alrdy huge and powerful, yet just as smart as humans... then who would play as a human if mino's were present? Taking balance into account strong mino's would have to lack in some area in order to make up for their gain in strength.

Humans would be much more agile then Monotaurs, and it would be alot easier to buy for becuz they are an average size. and they would be much more acceptable to most other NPCs becuz Humans have spread far and wide across the world. If you ask me, we as humans aren't all that smart any ways.

IMO thats one of the only things that we have going for us. Our brains. When faced with challenges our brains always pull thru for us. Seen Planet of the Apes yet? Ya, it's kinda like that.
Of course this never seems to hold true for fanatsy based humans. Where only a select few (and I do mean a few) are intelligent, whereas the masses are always dumb as an ogre =)

our brain causes us to kill each other, destroy our planet, make it hard for others to live, and alot more.

That's Real Life. We are talking about a game.
Balance is the most important thing when designing the races.

Yeah, see if this were set up more complex u could do things (and maybe you can) by thier size being a factor, easier to get hit, acnt ride on average horses (Atleast not for long) and stuff like that, also they arent as dexteritous (how ever tahts spelleD) and since intelligence judges so much they could move it down a bit there (they arent stupid but they arent advanced in technology and not as magicly adept so i guess its outnumberd so INT goes down) btu they are dumb or anything...
