Well, I'm suddenly overcome by the erge to RP, maybe because at the time my real life is pretty boring. I realixed I'm roleplaying in all the games I play, and that I'm not roleplaying t my full potential here. So I've decided to make this thread for roleplayin'! I know there are a few other threads like this, but in all honoesty, they're mainly OOC... I'm gonna give this a shot, try to get a roleplay story going!

----

You open your eyes slowly, letting sunlight in peice by peice, savoring the last few moments of sleep. Finally your eyes slam open, and stretching, you get out of your bed. Quickly washing your face and getting dressed, you head outside, into the street. It seems the perfect mourning. Everybody is smiling, the sun is bright, and where there is grass, there is dew reflecting the light in every direction. Looking around, you see a group of people gathered around a tree you never noticed before. As you walk towards it, you seem scared, as you were positice there wasn't a tree there last night... you near it, and it strikes you. The tree somehow is formed to look like a dragon's head. Teeth and all, with leaves like scales, it seems to tower over you, even though it is only your height. You see the people around you are looking into it's mouth, and you do to. To your surprise, there is a note there. It reads:

----

--Come to the Dragon's Head tavern--

Now opening, a tavern of mystery and adventure! As soon as the sun has set, we open our doors. Inside you can enjoy a wonderful meal with friends.. but beware the tavern is reported a mysterious and adventouious place! When coming, please follow these rules...

((Keep it in character))
((Anything OOC must be put in ((__))'s like this))
((Keep it interesting, don't end it with you blowing the tavern up!))
((Once again, anything OOC MUST BE PUT IN (())'s!!))
((Don't ruin it for others...))
((If a current story is going, go with it! Don't make an enitrely new one...!))

At the bottom there is and emblem of a dragon's head with an odd looking tavern inside.. below the emblem it says.. "Location: Look Up!"

----

Reading the mysterious letter, you decide to look up. To your amazment, there is a gigantic Tavern high above the rest of the town! At the edge of the city, are stairs with no handles... many many stairs... going every way, in spircles, circles, sometimes leads up, sometimes down... At the end of the stairs is an incredible building, looking somehat like a castle, but seeming far more friendly... torches line the walls, even though it is too windy for torches. The tavern is blocking the sun, however there is no shadow, it's as if it's not there...

-------------------------------The DH Tavern----------------------------------

The sun is setting and so you start to make your way to the stairs. You see what seems the entire city walking there, desperate to find out what this is all about. You hear a couple whisper, "I hear that the city guards tried to break in, but the doors wouldn't open!"

You near the stairs, and see the sun slowly dipping out of sight. You climb the long staircase, curious now more then ever... As long as the stairs had seemed, the climb was incredibly short. You wonder how so many people are going to fit in, even at the tavern's incredible size. About 500 people await at the doors, as the sun finally goes out of sight. The doors swing open

--------------"Welcome to the Dragon's Head Tavern!!"

((I'm gonna start this off...))

An old man is grinning at the doors. He motions for everyone to come in, and then seemingly vanishes. Mistified, we wander into the darkness...

After 10 seconds of walking, the room lights up! With torches eveywhere, it's so bright it seems as if it's daytime! You realize the room could not possibly be this big considering the size of the tavern itself. It's as if the inside is 3x the side of the outside!

Women come to greet you and lead you to tables. Confused, you let them. Sitting down, they take your order...

((Now that all this is down, I'm gonna be myself, Talka))

Sitting down at the mysterious place, it feels increibly comfortabe and nice, I notice a fire going, and I have an urge for ale. Motioning the waitress to get me some, I relax...

"NOW! Now that you're all here! Oh wait, not all of you, you people come on in! Now! Welcome to the grand opening of the Dragon's Head tavern! Sit back, and enjoy!"

What a weird man! He walks slowly towards us, and takes a seat with the people next to my table, I hear him talking...

"Nice place, eh? Eh, I guess ya' could say it's magical, eheh..! There's quite a bit to do, with very little time to do it! You see, many of the people in this tavern are very special, indeed! Who? You will find out! However, I'm seeking one who would be able to help me... ya' see, this place aint safe! No no, the tavern is fine, it's this blasted planet! I'm not from here, ya' see, I'm from a different plane. Dat' place was one of increibul magick an' wizardry.. I loved it... but den, it became infested... thousands and thousands of monsta's! They all followed one great monsta'... Xoto! Xoto the beast, ruined everything. I think I was the only who who survived... I'm tellin' ya this because he plans on comin' here next... to this very planet! I know a way to seal him away, seal this planet away... and no ot'ers can come in! But ta' do this, I need a certain prism, one inside a deep dark cave... and I be needin' help gettin' it! Ya' see, my magic aint strong on this plane... I need help! Da' prism is located in dis very town, under da' sewers, guarded by one of Xoto's minions who had made it in already! He's guardin' it from me, and I need it oh so badly..." With that he vanished..

I ponder his words, even though they weren't to me. I notice many around had heard the words to, and it was frightening... I decided to help, and guess that many around me do to...

*A strange man stares into the bottom of his drink blankly*

"How many times have I done this, day after day" he mumbles to himself.

*The strange man glances to see an onrush of people flooding into the tavern*

*sigh* "Seems the old man has opened the tavern to yet a new area" the man thought to himself, "confounded new people."

*The man rises from his chair to seek a 'less populated' area of the tavern..... but a man consealed completely in black robes approaches him*

"Hrm seems this bunch of strangers will prove to be very interesting... eh... KINTOUN?"

*Kintoun raises a brow at the consealed man*

"Hmmmm!? Not many people can call me by that title... You sense something different about this new batch...? MORTE?"

"Hahah well met brother!" exclaimes Morte.

"Hmph. Too noisy here."

*Kintoun shuffles past the 'DO NOT ENTER' rope up to the 2nd floor balcony overlooking the main stage*

*Kintoun beckons to a waitress and requests a refill on his scotch*

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*A waitress rushes to stop a village member from accessing the 2nd floor balcony*

"Excuse me sire, but the welcoming ceremony is still being held in the main stage area."

"Oh uhh sorry. But uhh who is that up there?" The man says as he points up high.

"Him? Oh he's a regular here... Never talks much. I always get a very odd aura from him however. It's like something always tells me to leave him be. Heh I would suggest you do the same sire. Now come come! This way please."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*Kintoun out-stretches his hand toward the gathering and takes a long deep breath*

"Hmm intersting indeed... Seem promising... fulfill the roles for which Fate has guided you" Kintoun states as he smirks then throws back the remainder of his drink.

A waitress approaches the man sitting on the balcony.

"Excuse me sir, would you like a refill?" she asks.

"Yes, please." mutters the man.

The waitress pours him another glass of scotch from the bottle she is carrying. He lookes up at her and a strange expression crosses her face.

"Well Brother, do you think this is the one we were waiting for?" she asks in a voice that is neither male nor female. "You know where to find me. I'll be around somewhere", she says. "Take the bottle."

The waitress sets the bottle down on the table, the expression leaves her face, and she walks away confused leaving the forgotten bottle on the table.

(strolls up the stairs)
"Hot sake?"
'Aaaaaahh thats better'
'Hmmm, iiinteresting about that prism, real possibilities there, save the world, that should be worth something. As long as...'
(glances up at balcony)
'Yup, gods, probably wont help, probably get in the way. Wonder if they realise that if this thing really is outworld it will horn in on their action? Oh well, Ill play that card if I have to, wont be the first time. Bother, cant seem to get away from em. Well, at least, if I get this here prism thing, there wont be any more of them. Aaaand, by the size of this place, it juuust might be worth it.'
(strolls back down the stairs)
'Better get it before the crowd gets there, probably die like flies, as usual. Well, I can tell myself Im doing them a good deed hehe. And the money wont hurt either.'
'Jeeze, the things I do for a living, now, where would I put a sewer entrance...'

**One or two of the men stand up, and boldy go for the exit, to find Xoto's minion**

**Seconds later, a scream is heard from outside, near the stairs**

**A grand fire bursts through the door. It licks the wood, but seemingly burns nothing. It shoots out and engulfs one man, who went out screaming in pain**

The old man shouts, "That must be the minion! He is after me!"

Thinking quickly, I reach into my pocket. A long time ago I had receieved this, and had carried it along for an emergency. I had payed dearly for it with 3 years of my life (Which went to the wizard who had I had bought it from). It was said to combine the one you use it against, however, keeping the weilders mind the one that powers over the body. This seemed a nice chance to use it.

**I pull out the solid crystal ball, and words start chanting out my mouth I do not know. I point at the fiery being who had just englufed one more man**

**Ack tiever, si lo no!**

The fiery being and I are joint, and a blinding light forms between us. The minion seemed to be screaming as if his mind was dieing. I fell a shock, not one of pain, but of suprise, as if I enter just entered a new body. I realized I have.

I look at myself in the nearest mirror. I seem pretty normal, but from the people around me I can tell I am emmiting a great heat. My eyes seem to burn inside of me. I fell sane, and in control. Sighing relief, I burst my arm into flames, and then extinguish the fire. It is as if I am simply controlling another limb, and felt natural.

All eyes are on me. I slowly go back to me seat, glaring at those who look at me too scared. I see the old man staring at a prism on the ground, and shouts out with glee. He walks towards it...

As the old man approaches the crystal it begins to spin in slow circle upon the floor. The light from it glints flashes of color that light up the room. The room goes silent as the colors play upon the minds of those close enough to witness the crystal. All those looking upon it stand dumbstruck and mindless. The old man begins to scream pitifully but none of the onlookers seem to notice. His form begins to waver and his screams become echoed within the room....((any who approach to see with eyes open will be mesmerized, cept the gods of course who watch amused from the balcony))

Alena was on her way up the confusing set of stairs when a man on fire flew by in his decent to the ground. The apprentice of a white wizard, she had been sent to observe the new tavern that had come so mysteriously to town. She was frightened and wished that her guardian had come himself. As she reached the final flight of what seemed like and endless climb she began to hear screaming from within the doors. She approached them cautiously and saw a colored flashing coming through the stained windows which disturbed her heart greatly. She laid her back against the door and pushed.. The light which flooded out mirrored her form on the platform before her and she closed her eyes.
Think.. I must think.. in her time of darkness she remembered a tomb she had once read of her masters. It had discribed such a thing. But wait.. how and worse if it was what she thought it was, who ever it was that was screaming was in some real trouble. She covered her eyes with both hands and humming the chant of protection she turned tward the full of the light. Closing one eye she peaked through her fingers with the other, then immediately closed her other eye. It was worse than she had believed it could be. From her tiny glimse she had seen all she needed to.
With both eyes closed she makes her way into the room, bashing her shin here and bumping tables there till she was fairly sure she was close to the source of the light.
Alena took a chance at another peek. She knew to look full on into such a thing would leave her standing stupidly with the others. The old man was near disillusion, soon the crystal would have him. She needed to act now!
She dropped to her knees and crawled along the floor feeling for the stone desperately. Her hand came across a mug which had been tossed off the table somehow and she grabbed it, pulling it along with her. When she did manage to touch the whirling stone the heat from it bit into her finger tips and she recoiled. Alena began to smash the mug down on the floor close to where she had felt the heat. Four trys later she was successful in bringing the mug full force down onto the spinning stone and it was shattered into a million pieces. The old man dropped to the floor unconsious and the rest of the room regained their senses to the sight of the slight girl, eyes closed, on hands and knees bashing the crystals remains with a mug.... Alena stopped when she heard a shuffle of feet and opened her eyes. She mouths the word trap, but as usual no sound comes out. Alena began to wish she had just stayed home....

From behind the eyes of one of the onlookers watches an alien presence.

"Fools!" it thought to itself, "They are so simple that they fell for the false prizm trap. I can't believe the Fleshie actually allowed itself to absorb the Psychic Leech. By now the eggs are laid and his days of freedom are numbered. Given time he will be a useful servent after the larva hatches. I can hardly wait."

"The Master was correct in allowing the human to escape with his precious tavern. He will lead us to countless worlds full of Flesh Bags for us to enjoy. After all this time he is still not aware of the Larve inside of him."

"I must report this sucess to the Master"

The Entity projected itself into a small bird perched upon the rail outside the door. The bird gives a merry chirp and flies off.

Inside the Tavern an old men begains muttering to himself again unnoticed by the others around him.

Up on the balcony Kintoun and Morte feel a twinge and give a knowing look to each other.

The waiter approaches and he refills Kintoun's scotch for him. "Another piece of the puzzle shows itself." He walks away.

A stranger clad only in what looks to be a tartan kilt walks to the bar. With a throaty laugh he bellows for the best ale of the tavern and sits heavily in a seat.

To those who look at him it seems as if he was born of a mountain and bred on war. With a grin flashed around he says in a much quieter voice "I be a stranger in these parts. Any of ya as can tell me a wee bit about em?"

And with nary another word sits back and sips his ale.

A small bird soars over the town and swoops along the main street. It lands for a moment on a branch and looks around. It darts towards a sewer grate, folding it's wings at the last moment to drop through the grate. The bird flutters along the tunnel in the darkness following a trail existing only in it's controllers memory.

Landing near a crack in the wall, the bird hopped through and let itself fall into the darkness below. It flew through a maze of natural tunnels to it's lair across a groto.

In the cavern there is a small prism glowing with it's own inner radiance. The light from the cube reveils a mass of twisted and joined bodies roughly forming a web like structure. There are humans, elves, animals, and anything that walked the streets and dissappeared.

The collective mass cringes from the entity when it aproaches. The Entity projects itself into the center of the web and concentrates breifly to open a pinhole gateway. He gathers his strength and forces its way into the blank minds of the collective, flooding the neural pathways with his own mind. The multiple versions of himself all concentrate on the gate and send their thoughts through it.

Reaching through, the Entity locates the mind he is trying to communicate with. He makes himself known and waits for permission.

The stranger glances up sharply interrupting the waitress who is busy talking about the events of the past few minutes.
"What did you say? And the prizm just shattered? ahh what a mighty thing that must have been to see..."

With a mighty shove he pushes away from the bar, a close observer might have noticed a quick look of concern flash across his face if they had glanced at him that moment. With a hmm he begins to sing softly to himself in a foreign language. Maintaining that song he walks around the room as if searching for somethinng. Coming to the area where the crystal shattered he quickly sits as if in a drunken stupor.

Closing his eyes he quickly sees the last ten minutes replay in his mind. Just at that moment he feels a mental brush as if somebody were searching for something and had quickly passed him.

Barely changing the tone of his song he tries to follow whatever it may have been...

The Entity flinched as the mind he is waiting for focuses on him.

"WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO REPORT?"

The raw power behind the thought sends his senses reeling for a moment. To have such power is unthinkable, and without a Psi Web to amplify it. At times like this he fully understands why Lord Xoto is Emperor. Nobody could match this level of power. He was glad that only a small part of Xoto's mind was focused on him.

"The Meat Puppet fled to another world like you planned. He even thinks that he was acting upon his own accord.

The Larve inside him planted the idea of using the Prism to seal the breach caused by Displacing his Inn. Our troops will soon emerge and spread through out this world."

"GOOD! CONTACT ME AFTER PHASE ONE IS COMPLETED."

"YOU ARE DISMISSED."

The closing of the contact sent the Entity flinging backwards. He quickly returned to the Web and closed the Gate before the shockwave hit. He rested in the Web absorbing energy from the town above and projected himself into a pesant walking the street pushing a cart laden with turnips towards the marketplace.

Below, the abandoned bird franticly tried to find it's way out of the cavern until it blundered into the Web. The Web absorbed the body, adding it to the collective.

As if a lightning bolt hit him from above, another mind invaded his own. And with brutal abandon looked into every nook and crany. With a malicious laugh the entity strips certain memories of good and valor from the barbarian. In their place he implants false memories.

"This will be interesting" hisses the entity in amusement.

And with that he is gone. The barbarian stands with a daze and shakes his head. He slowly meanders back to the tavern, but his customary grin is gone, and in its place is a scowl which warns all away.

To say that Alena did not like this place was an understatement. Mystical beings watching above, and a crowd milling around below. Everything had pretty much returned to business as usual even though the events of the evening so far had given Alena the shakes. As if that wasnt bad enough she had a bad feeling, a very bad feeling that just would not go away. Alena stuffed herself into a corner as far away from the main crowd as she could. She takes note of the subtle transformations going on around her that noone else seems to notice. Trying to explain all of this with gestures to her guardian was going to be very entertaining she was sure. .. but till then she watched.

Standing at the door she surveyed the room, then slowly ambled in. A few of the inhabitants looked up from their conversations or drinks at the newcomer, while others ignored her presence completely... Despite the crackling fire in the fireplace, and generally warm toned atmosphere, a cold stillness, even tention, was surrounding her. 'What happened here?' She thought to herself idly, as she sat down at the bar...
