I uhhhh have been out of some cool ideas for Arcanity.... So I've got my friend with me here (points to a Webster Dictionary). Maybe he can help me out...

(points to a random word) Climb...
Will we be able to have a climb skill where we can climb up sheer walls/trees/whatever gets in our way?

(flips around again and finds the word zebra) zebra... yeah well um.... Zebras are horses with jail suits on right? Well, anyway, will there be horses allowed in the game? Will they be ridable horses? What about ridable zebras?

(flips around and points to...) Toddler... Hmmm, Well, will there be models of kids in the game? And like you were saying, there are no spawn points (and the next part ties in with a previous post about time progression) will a child be born, seen as a baby and at a later date be seen as a boy etc...?

(finds yet another word) Famine. Will players NEED to eat for fear of death, or will it be a not nessesary, but helps you regenerate type of thing?

(Webster gives me yet another word) Plasma... Well, yeah, okay.... Umm moving on...

(another word) Scrawny. Will players be able to choose their body type (fat, thin, tall, short) and their faces, hair, posture, etc...

Well, I think I will call it quits there before I really start stretching it... Hopefully this "writters block" if you will, will be removed soon so that I can get back to better ideas.

Mhh ye hit one point that sparked my interest...climbing!!
I think this would be great...perhaps ye could only reach that treasure trove if ye have sufficient skill to climb that darn cliff it's on top off.
Alway wondered what that big temple looked like from the roof?? perhaps ye could climb to it. Or how about sneaking into the window if those guards won't let ye use the front door?

Climbing has lot's of possiblitlies and I for one want it in :-)
So how about it guys??

It would be logically one of the theif based skills.

Hm, I've been bumping this around for awhile, but I wasn't sure whether the movement Coding is considered finished or not. Anyway, here goes: Detailed collision detection and Ease of movement; with scenery so beautiful as Arcanity and such dynamic model design, it would make be great if moving around felt more natural than we've been accostumed to, like a 3rd Person over-the-shoulder (Mario for the N64, Tomb Raider, etc). One thing I always hated about EverQuest (and it looks bad in the new DAoC) is the simple "hoverwalk." Arcanity already has surpassed this (the characters look great while walking), but a brisk, console-esque Run could still be added.

Especially for Rogues (and anyone who spends a lot of time Running from the likes of Wrentia or UBIK :) running you "feel" is very appreciated.

Well, I added a bit of a bounce to the running animations for the last patch. Did that make any difference in the "feel" of it? I thought it gave it a little more of a console look than before.

Actually in my opinion the running animations look pretty poor to me so far. Characters run way too stiff. Nothing fluid or realistic like. A small gait would look nice. As well as leaning the direction your running. Hopefully the animations will of course improve throughout beta.

Lets not forget that beta isn't supossoed to be full of compliments, but full or harsh criticism. When I make something I want to hear whats BAD about it, not GOOD about it. Of course a lil brown nosing here and there always is nice too =).

Actually, Rolfe, I did notice the difference. Personally, I agree with Kintoun halfway- I think the running animations look fine moving straight forward, but some tilt when they turn or move diagonally (and different strafe movement) is necessary.

A race that powerful would be NPC only due to powerlevels

Or, you could balance a race out like by not being able to carry or wear anything because it's immeadiately incinerated... and if it starts to rain, then you take damage... And if you try to swim... well you become a decoration at the bottom of that body of water.

If your body was hot enough to contain Plasma. your presence would torch buildings. Those are fire elementals
