i remember one day i was having a merry time in EQ and decided that it would be a good idea to few things from the roof of a nearby building. well it just so happened that a lion ran into the building, and somehow attacked me through the roof, even though i was out of his range, and through a roof...just saying that it would suck if that happened in your game...

Ha ha. Hated that. We already had height checks back in our preliminary engine. The new engine is more advanced and will include height checking also.
speaking of heights, if you go higher like on the montain top would your char start moving slower and take slightly more damage since its colder the higer you go?

Not to mention altitude sickness, which is actually a scary thing, I've seen its effects. But that's more than likely just a lot of complication for little real effect, seems they could use system resources for something a little mor effective.

Ya, when you go above 6000 feet, you're character will be rendered useless and will start pukeing all over everything and the stomach acid will rust your armor and do 367 points of damage per round with anyone that comes in contact with it. You won't be able to fight though and you won't be able to control your character. A GM will take full control of your character and will make you stagger around in circles. Your face will turn white and dark elves will kill you on site because they hate puke. You'll never ever be able to retrieve your corpse because it will be above the "puke" line, which is several hundred feet above the tree line in Novus, and if you try to retrieve it, you'll get sick again and a GM will make you stagger around again until the Dark Elves come to kill you again.
We're not sure if we're going to implement this system yet or not because it requires that we have 50 GM's per 500 people on staff at all times in case someone goes above the puke line. We've had success with it in internal testing however and there's a good chance it will be in at release.

Thats all well and good, but you need at least one race that has adapted to the high altitude and does not suffer from the nasty problems of being above the puke line. Sort of like the folks in the Andes Mountains in South America.
You also need some vendors that sell climbing gear, after all there are those who want to brave the dangers and climb the mountains because they are there. You should stick in an aclimation system as well so if you spend a certain amount of time just below the puke line, you can then travel above the puke line for a short time without problems.
Hmmm, you should probably have the coldness kill people not properly clothed, adding a blueish tinge to their corpse. Oh that brings up another point.....If a persons corpse is lying on the ground for more than a few hours, the game needs a rigormortis system....

I should also mention the urine system. If you don't use the bathroom once every four game hours, your bladder will explode inflicting 3d6 damage to everyone within 20' of you. ... And then the dark elves will kill you.

Alright, this thread's getting ridiculous. I mean, who ever heard of Dark Elves patrolling above the puke line? I'd say straight-up gnoll/doppleganger hybrids... They look like dogs, then they see you puking and kill you, so they can take your bladder before it explodes. Sound good?
slither your right this is getting out of hand, but i found much houmor in it. hey look im a journyman finally, (took long enough)

Now there's a point...I've been a journeyman for a bit now and it ticks me off....Where do they get off making me a journeyman when I should be a journeywoman? Talk about descrimination! I think I'll have to become a Goddess and flaten some of the Brickhouse staff.

Hmmm... perhaps our system of not having invincible GMs was a bit hastily decided upon.

if i puked from above the puke line is there a chance that my puke would kill something on the ground and i'd get the experience? =)
